REVIEW: Citadines Connect Sydney Airport Hotel

If you’re looking to stay somewhere luxurious before you fly out of Sydney Airport, you can’t go past the Citadines Connect Hotel in Mascot. Located a mere 5 minute drive from Sydney Airport, the hotel has been designed to be traveller friendly and offers a wide range of amenities that make for a seamless travel experience.

We were invited to review the #PenthousePup package that the Citadines Connect Hotel offers, and we had the absolute time of our lives. We brought our eight year old Border Collie, Leo, along for the trip and he had the time of his life. The Penthouse Pup package includes an overnight stay in a Premium Economy room, dog bed and bowl for your four-legged friend and lots of treats for them as well! The entire hotel is airport themed, and from the moment you walk in you’re transported into a world of excitement! Bright neon signs lead the way to the check in/check out desk, and every detail has been meticulously thought about.

The bedroom itself is spacious, with enough room for two people plus your four-legged friend. The bedroom has a very comfortable king-sized bed, a waterfall shower head and every amenity you’d need for an overnight stay. There is plenty of storage in the bedroom, which means if you’re spending a few days working at the hotel you’ll have space for everything. The room also offered a spacious balcony, where you can lap up the sun and enjoy views of your surroundings.

You’ll spend most of your time in the Penthouse, located on level eight, that offers 360 degree views of Sydney. It’s the perfect place to order a cocktail, sit back in a hanging chair and watch as planes fly in and out of Sydney. Leo was welcomed in every part of the Penthouse (except the food area for obvious reasons), and even enjoyed a doggo cocktail! The Penthouse features a beautiful bar that offers an enormous range of cocktails, three different seating areas and super funky decor. We took advantage of their Happy Hour, that means all cocktails are only $10 between 5pm-7pm. I can highly recommend the Sex on the Beach, Cosmopolitan and Espresso Martini!

The Citadines Connect Hotel also has a ‘Grab and Go’ area that keeps in line with their airport theme, where you can literally grab your breakfast, lunch or dinner and go on with your day. The food is a little pricey for what is offered, but it is akin to airport prices so it’s more targeted at travellers in a rush. In saying that, the coffee was absolutely delicious and there are some affordable options for those staying a few days.

The decor throughout the hotel is super funky, and includes lots of cheeky airport themed prints, bright colours and bold patterns. Every space has been designed to be colourful yet calming, and the hotel offers incredible views of the airport. There’s no better feeling than drinking a cocktail and watching the airplanes take off. As part of the Ascott group, the Citadines Connect Hotel has the Ascott Cares program implemented, which means both the staff and guests are provided with a safe, happy and healthy environment. They were recently awarded the SG Clean Accreditation, where the hotel passed an auditing process designed by Bureau Veritas Health.
