STAY: The Swan Hotel and Spa in Newby Bridge.

Each and every room at the Swan Hotel and Spa has had an immense amount of thought put behind it. From the plush furniture to the thread count in the sheets, these rooms have been designed to be insanely luxurious and comfortable. We stayed in the room appropriately named ‘Fabulous’, and there was never a more accurate description. Decked out in opulent shades of green and blue, the decadent room was a warm welcome from our previous accommodation in our hostel.

You know when you sleep somewhere else and miss your bed at home? This feeling is completely non existent at the Swan Hotel and Spa. They have the comfiest, lushest beds in the world, and I’m considering calling them and asking if I can buy a mattress off of them because it was so ridiculous comfortable.

The room was extremely spacious, and our windows opened to reveal a beautiful view of the lake and bridge. The facilities at the Swan Hotel and Spa also went above and beyond, with an in-house spa, fitness centre and swimming pool (complete with a spa and sauna!). We had a dip in the pool, and were truly amazed at how perfect the water temperature was. It felt like home, which is exactly what you want when you’re away for a long period of time.

It’s little wonder the Swan Hotel and Spa won the Large Hotel of the Year for the Cumbria Tourism Awards 2017. It was easily the most luxurious place I’ve ever stayed at, and the staff made it even more pleasant with their willingness to help with whatever we needed.

The grounds were absolutely divine, and with the hotel located in Newby Bridge it was little wonder that there was so much to explore, do and see. The hotel itself looked out on to River Leven, and we sat in the afternoon and had a glass of wine whilst watching the water… heaven!

Overall I’d rate the Swan Hotel and Spa an easy 10/10. From couples to massive families, all ages would love this luxurious hotel. Thank you for having me, and I’ll certainly be back!
